Beach Girls and the Monster

1965       Sue Casey

With the discovery of the clawed body of a beautiful surfer girl, Richard Lindsey (Arnold Lessing) and his fiancee, Jane Howard, (Elaine DuPont) are thrown into a series of devastating adventures. Constantly hounded by his father, Professor Otto Lindsey, (Jon Hall) to concentrate on his work at the Oceanic Research Laboratory, Richard retreats more and more to his new found surfing friends.

On the night of the big beach party, a menacing sea monster appears and when Tom finds himself alone he is suddenly attacked and brutally murdered by the ferocious beast. Mark, a sensitive and artistic loner, and house guest of Richard, is the first to discover Toms mutilated body. Due to unfortunate circumstances, Mark is accused of Toms death.

Realizing his position is suspect, he makes a fast retreat from the scene, escaping i,n the sheriffs patrol car. From a clue Mark discovered in the sand near Tom s body, he heads for Richard's house, hoping to find the necessary evidence to clear himself. Back at the house, Richards young

and attractive step-mother Vickie, (Sue Casey) is returning home from an ill-concealed date, much the worse for the evenings activities. As she waves her date off and enters the house, she drunkenly looks for new fields to conquer and heads for Mark's room, when suddenly, in the darkened stairway, with a claw draped in seaweed, the monster attacks and kills the beautiful unfaithful wife.

Mark enters the house intent on finding something to prove his innocence. As he searches frantically, the monster appears and attacks, in their struggle, Mark pulls off the monster head, revealing Richards father and his horrendous masquerade. As Otto finishes off Mark, Richard and Jane enter the room unexpectedly and catch Otto in the very act of murder. f-fe races out of the house and as Richard and Jane bend over the dying Mark, the sheriff's police siren is heard outside. Now follows a hair-raising chase around break-neck curves in the Hollywood Hills, ending as Otto crashes through a guard-rail to die in a firey tomb, leaving Richard, Jane and the sheriff to watch helplessly.
