The Touchables

1968       Judy Huxtable

Teaser Storyline for : The Touchables

At a cocktail party in honor of the opening of a wax museum, four lovely young girls plot to steal the statue of Michael Caine. The quartet, who call themselves the Touchables, include Sadie (JUDY HUXTABLE), Melanie (ESTHER ANDERSON), Bushes (MARILYN RICKAED) and Samson (KATHY SIMMONDS).

The following day Melanie attends a wrestling match between her boy friend Ricici Starr (RICKI STARR) and the Black flood. After the match, which Ricki has won, the Black Hood slips off his mask in his dressing room, to reveal that he is really the underworld hoodlum Lillywhite (HARRY BAIRD). He is interested in meeting young pop entertainer Christian (DAVID ANTHONY), whom he spotted in the crowd.

The girls plot to kidnap Christian, their favorite singer. Meanwhile, Lillywhite has spoken to Christian's manager, Kasher (JOHN RONANE), offering "insurance protection" for the pop idol. When Kasher turns him down, Lillywhite declares that non-payment of the insurance fee will not guarantee against "loss or damage to the insured."

At

a charity wrestling match, Samson, dressed as a cigarette girl, tells Christian he is wanted on the phone. Following her, he is accosted by the other girls, who are garbed in nuns' habits, and knocked out. Putting a nun's outfit on him, they whisk him off to their pleasure dome, a plastic transparent bubble 80 feet high, located several miles outside London.

The next morning Kasher accuses Lillywhite of kidnapping Christian, but the hoodlum blames Kasher for hiding the singer.

When Christian awakens, the girls explain that he has been "appropriated" for their own pleasure. In order to amuse him, they cavort with the young man in their dome. Christian has a "royal ball" in this environment, taking turns with each girl at his own whim. Eventually tiring of the pleasures offered him by the girls, Christian throws a tantrum. In an attempt to escape, he jumps into an inflatable dinghy, heading toward the center of the lake. When Sadie sees this, she shoots the boat with her rifle. Christian is saved from drowning by Samson, who gives him the "kiss of life."

Melanie, who has gone for supplies in London, stops at the Touchables' apartment, where two men grab her. Forcing her to take them to the dome, they capture Christian and the girls. Samson, who manages to escape, goes to Ricki with the admission of their guilt over Christian's disappearance and the subsequent takeover by the mobsters. When Ricki gathers his wrestler friends for the rescue, the men, assigned by Lillywhite to watch him, follow.

Kasher joins in the mad chase of Lillywhite and his cohorts and Ricki and his friends. In the ensuing battle, the girls and Christian are freed. Christian turns the gas-feeding switch to off, causing the huge dome to deflate slowly.

After Rasher and Christian, as well as the hoodlums leave, the Touchables sadly survey their deflated dome. They perk up, however, when Sadie mischievously reminds them that they can always blow it up again.
