Who Did Cock Robin?

1969

Who killed cock robin? Was it the lovely call girl, Michelle? Or perhaps, Marlene, procurer to the lusts of the underworld. Or, Mick, pusher junkie, anything for a buck. Hater of cock robin. Nick Spenelli? The underworld king, last employer of Paul Robin. Gino and T.B., the two hoods who worked for Spenelli to do his dirty work. Or was it Jim Robin, suspected by the police of killing his own brother.

Jim Robin awakens in the hospital remembering nothing of the night before and adamantly protesting his innocence to the officers accusations. He is comforted by the buxom nurse, who with her own special treatment assures him he is well enough to leave the hospital. Jim Robin vows to find his brother's killer.

His quest takes him to Alan, Paul's one-time friend, who certainly had a motive for murder after Paul had raped Linda, Alan's fiancee. Alan gives him a lead to Michelle, Paul's abandoned lover, and on to Madame Marlene, who was used as a stepping stone to the fast

and easy money of the underworld. Marlene had helped Paul attain the position of ao loan collector for Nick Spenelli. She sends Jim to Mick, who Paul had sent to jail, and was now trying to go straight. Swearing to Jim that he did not kill Paul, Jim secures the address of Spenelli. After an encounter with Spenelli, Jim is convinced of his guilt. He follows him to his yacht. Spenelli is enjoying a show put on by his secretary and a friend, not concerning himself with Jim, who he believes to be dead by now. He gets into the act as the yacht docks and Jim interprets his fun. Spenelli's life is saved by alert po1ice work and Jim is take to The hospital.

Under sodium amathol Jim confesses he had seen Paul the night of the murder. Obviously, suffering from amnesia since that night, he now relates the story of his happy love affair with Sue. They were living together and planning to be married when their plans were interrupted by Paul's visit. Jim never suspecting that Paul would ever cause harm to Sue, goes out for the day. When he returns he finds that Sue has been robbed and raped. Unable to conceal the truth from himself any longer, he then confesses to having chased Paul to the dock that night, and it was at his own hands that his brother died.
